41 34 040 Stripping operation - Replacing outer part and inside middle part of tail panel

NOTE: Owing to the different engine variants and equipment specifications, not all the components are taken into consideration.
The following list basically represents the removal sequence.

Remove negative battery cable (job number: 61 20 900)
Completely remove exhaust system (job number: 18 00 020)
Remove heat shield for rear silencer
Remove bumper trim (job number: 51 12 156)
Remove bumper support (job number: 51 12 050)
Remove tail panel cover at top (job number: 51 46 050)
Remove luggage compartment floor trim panel (job number: 51 47 101)
Remove and install left and right luggage compartment wheel arch panels (job number: 51 47 151)
Remove rear left and right wheel arch cover (job number: 51 71 041)
Partially detach tailgate seal

Disconnect connector (1).

Release screws (2) and remove lock (3).

Tightening torque 51 24 1AZ .

Remove tailgate vents (4).

Unlock and disconnect the connector (1).

Loosen the nuts and remove control unit (2).

Release wiring harness (3) and place to one side.

Unlock and disconnect the connector (1).

Loosen the nuts and remove control units (2).

Release wiring harness (3) and place to one side.
