CV Joint Boot: Removal

  1. Remove axle shaft. See DRIVE AXLE SHAFT (LEFT)  or DRIVE AXLE SHAFT (RIGHT)  . On wheel-side joint, remove clamp securing sleeve on constant velocity joint. See Fig 1 . Remove clamp securing sleeve on shaft. Remove sleeve from joint. Firmly hold shaft and drive inner joint off shaft. See Fig 2 . Remove sleeve from shaft.
  2. On transmission-side joint, remove clip and inner sleeve. See Fig 3 .
