41 12 653 Stripping Operations - Replacing Left Luggage Compartment Floor (Rear Side Wall And Tail Panel Removed)

NOTE: Owing to the different engine variants and equipment specifications, not all the components are taken into consideration.
The following list basically represents the removal sequence.
  • Disconnect battery earth lead (FR number: 61 20 600)
  • Remove rear left wheel well cover (FR number: 51 71 041)
  • Remove exhaust system (job number: gasoline engine 18 00 020, diesel engine 18 00 018)
  • Remove heat shield
  • Remove left luggage compartment floor trim panel (job number: 51 47 101)
  • Remove rear left floor panel (FR number: 51 47 395)
  • Remove left luggage compartment wheel arch panel (FR number: 51 47 151)

Release nut/expanding rivets and remove both supports (1) for floor panels.

Release screws and lay TV module (1) to one side.

Release tank vent valve (2) and lay to one side.

Unclip wiring harness (3) in parts.

Remove insulating mat (4).

Unlock connectors for control units (1) and disconnect.

Release nuts for control unit holder and remove holder with control units.

Unclip wiring harness (2) in parts.

Unclip and remove cover (3).

Unclip ventilation grille (4) and remove.

Installation note: 

The ventilation grille (3) may not be damaged. (watertightness).

All latch mechanisms must engage audibly.
