72 11 030 Removing And Installing/Replacing Front Left Or Right Seat Belt

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

WARNING:

Read and comply with SAFETY REGULATIONS  for handling airbag modules and pyrotechnical belt tensioners.

Improper handling can lead to triggering of the pyrotechnical seat belt tensioner or side airbag, resulting in injuries.

Switch off ignition!

Release screw (1).

Installation: 

Tightening torque: 72 11 04AZ  . See SEAT BELTS for specs.

Release screws (1) and remove belt guide (2).

Release screw (3) and remove belt (4).

Tightening torque: 72 11 03AZ  . See SEAT BELTS for specs.

If necessary, release screws (5) and remove connecting plate for belt deflection fitting (6).

Tightening torque: 72 11 02AZ  . See SEAT BELTS for specs.

Release screw (1).

Remove automatic reel (3).

Tightening torque: 72 11 01AZ  . See SEAT BELTS for specs.

Installation: 

Coding (2) of automatic reel must be seated in opening of body.

Retaining screw (1) secures belt retractor.
