12 41 020 Removing and installing/replacing starter motor (N14, N16, N18)
Necessary preliminary work:
- Switch off ignition.
- Clamp off BATTERY .
- Remove intake silencer housing. See 13 71 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING THE INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING (N16) or 13 71 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING THE INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING (N14, N18) .
- Remove RIGHT WHEEL
- N16 only:
Remove TANK VENT VALVE .
NOTE:
For a better overview, the following operation is shown on the engine after it has been removed.
N14 and N16 only:
Loosen screws and set vacuum tank (1) aside.
Release screw.
Tightening torque 12 41 1AZ .
Unlock connector (1) and remove.
Release nut (2) and remove the positive battery cable.
Tightening torque 12 41 2AZ .
Release screws.
Tightening torque 12 41 1AZ .
Remove holder (3) and starter motor.
Installation note:
Install starter motor and fit screws.
Press starter motor (1) in direction of arrow and tighten down.
