17 00 039 Vent cooling system and check on watertightness

WARNING: Risk of scalding! Only remove lid once engine has cooled down.

The cooling system is vented when it is topped up.

This procedure is described in Draining and topping up coolant. See DRAINING/TOPPING UP COOLANT (N16) or DRAINING/TOPPING UP COOLANT (N14, N18) .

Check cooling system for WATER LEAKS .

Checking coolant level:

Allow the engine to cool down before checking the coolant level.

Coolant temperature must not exceed 30 ° C.

If the ambient temperature is above 30 °C, wait until the engine has cooled down to ambient temperature.
