51 71 412 Removing and installing/replacing rear spoiler

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Unlock plug connections (1) and disconnect.

Loosen drain hose from water drain channel (2).

Installation note: 

Make sure the drain hose and water drain channel (2) are securely seated and leak tight.

Loosen retainers (1).

Lift out plugs (2).

NOTE: Due to the missing weight of the rear spoiler, the tailgate may open very fast.
Secure the tailgate against unintended opening prior to removing the rear spoiler.

Unscrew nuts (1).

Tightening torque 51 71 11AZ .

Close the tailgate and remove the rear spoiler toward the top.

Installation note: 

Attach retainers (2) before fitting the rear spoiler.

Guides (1) and retainers (2) must not be damaged.

Seal (3) must not be damaged.

Installation note: 

Bolts (1) must not be damaged.

Replacement: 

Remove rear spoiler TRIM .
