41 00 156 Left Front End With Bulkhead Support Carrier Replacement

Spot-weld bonding is used for the first time on the E65. A specific procedure must be followed here.

Place vehicle on straightening bench.

Following new body parts are required:

Wheel arch, front
Support carrier, wheel arch, outer
Retaining bracket
Mounting, cross-member

Open weld joints in areas (1).

Remove support carrier (2).

Mark severance cuts (1) in middle of bulkhead support carrier and cut.

CAUTION: Cut outer plate only for severance cuts (1).

Heat areas (2) and (3) with hot air blower to release bond underneath.

Installation information:

Spot-weld in areas (2).

Bond area (3).

Adjust new parts to fit with straightening attachment or universal mount.
