41 33... Remove and install front wall completely (for engine upgrading)
Special tools required:
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Drain coolant. See DRAINING AND TOPPING UP COOLANT (N16) or DRAINING AND TOPPING UP COOLANT (N14, N18) .
- Remove COOLANT EXPANSION TANK
- Remove washer pumps. See WINDSCREEN WASHER PUMP and WASHER PUMP FOR HEADLIGHT CLEANING SYSTEM .
- Move front panel into WORKING POSITION .
Version with A/C system:
Release the spring straps of both coolant hoses (1) with special tool 17 2 050 1 and detach coolant hoses.
Disconnect plug connection (2).
Only N14:
Release clamp (3) and pull off hose for exhaust turbocharger.
Version with A/C system:
Release screws (1).
Remove refrigerant lines (2).
Installation note:
Replace sealing rings and moisten with refrigerant oil.
At the time of tightening of the screws hold refrigerant lines!
Tightening torque 64 53 5AZ .
Unfasten screws (2).
Remove special tool 00 2 272 .
Pull off front wall (1) further upwards and take care of additional plug connections, cable and lines.
If required disconnect plug connections, cable and lines and remove the front wall (1) with the help of the helper.
Installation note:
To ensure that front panel (1) is correctly seated, slide panel on left and right uniformly towards rear.
With a second person helping, slide front panel into position and secure.
When installing, pay attention to retaining tabs on headlight.
