37 14 511 Replacing front ride-height sensor

IMPORTANT: Observe safety instructions for raising the vehicle, see LIFTING VEHICLE WITH A LIFTING PLATFORM .
NOTE:

Tightening torques:

  • Jointed rod to holder: 7.2 Nm
  • Holder to control arm: 6 Nm

Release bolt (1).

Remove holder for ride-height sensor from front axle carrier and disconnect plug connection (3).

Installation: 

Sensor lever (2) must point from ride-height sensor to left front wheel.

Tightening torque: 7.6 Nm

Release nut (4) and remove jointed rod from sensor lever (2).

Installation: 

Replace self-locking nut.

Tightening torque: 7.2 Nm

Installation: 

Align ride-height sensor holder by means of lug (1) to opening (2) in front axle carrier.

Release screws (1) and remove ride-height sensor (2).

Tightening torque: 4.4 Nm

After installation:
