51 45 254 Removing And Installing/Replacing Knee Protection On Front Passenger Side

Special tools required: 

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Unclip cover (1) in direction of arrow using special tool 00 9 340.

If necessary, disconnect associated plug connection.

NOTE: Illustration shows left side, right side identical.

Latch mechanisms (1) of cover (2) must not be damaged.

Replacement: 

If necessary, remove SWITCH FOR PASSENGER AIRBAG DEACTIVATION

Release screws (1).

NOTE: Illustration shows left side, right side identical.

Open glove box cover.

Release screws (1).

Undo screw (1) on air vent grille cover (2).

Carefully raise air vent grille cover (1).

Undo screw (2) on knee protector (3).

Release screws (1).

Remove knee protection (2).

Replacement: 

Unclip glove box button (1).
