41 62 014 Adjusting Rear Lid To Fit

CAUTION: Do not damage adjoining body parts. Minor corrections (realignment work) are permitted if the existing adjustment options are not sufficient.

Refer to relevant service information in BODY, GENERAL .

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove rear spoiler. See REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING REAR SPOILER .

Observe GAP DIMENSIONS .

The rear lid must be provided with all attachment parts for correct adjustment.

Adjustment points for adjusting rear lid to fit.

Carry over the work step shown symmetrically to the other side of the vehicle.

Slacken nuts (1) at hinge.

Tightening torque: 18.5 Nm

If adjustment range is not enough, also slacken nuts (1). Only accessible from interior.

Tightening torque: 22 Nm

Following adjustment, seal all areas with cavity sealant.

If necessary, adjust REAR LID LOCK .

After installation:

Tighten all screws and nuts to specified torque.
Touch up unpainted surfaces in the appropriate color.
