41 61 014 Adjust engine compartment lid

Refer to relevant service information in BODY, GENERAL .

Observe GAP DIMENSIONS .

Moving the hinges later on makes unpainted surfaces visible. Touch these up in the appropriate color.

Do not damage adjoining body parts.

Loosen screws (1) and (2) on left and right hinges.

Engine hood/bonnet must still just be able to be moved.

Tighten screws after adjusting bonnet.

Tightening torque: 22 Nm

Check stop screw of bonnet hinge on left and right.

Plastic head of stop screw must not be damaged or missing, replace bonnet hinge if necessary.

The stop screw is preset and must not be used to adjust the bonnet!

If the adjustment range is not sufficient, release screws (1) of engine bonnet hinge on body and move hinge.

Tightening torque: 22 Nm.

Height adjustment of bonnet to front wall:

Release screw (1) and remove cover (2).

Height adjustment by turning at closing hooks.

Adjust STOP PADS .

IMPORTANT: Check function of retaining hook.

Installation note: 

After adjusting the bonnet, check gap between headlights and engine compartment lid, and adjust if necessary.
