18 00 020 Removing and installing complete exhaust system (N14)

WARNING: Danger of burning and other injuries!
These tasks should only be carried out on an exhaust system that has cooled down.
Removal of the exhaust system must be carried out with the assistance of a second person.

Support exhaust system (1) with a suitable jack (2). Secure exhaust system against falling off.

Unfasten clip.

Tightening torque 22-28 N.m.

Spray rubber mount (1) with antiseize agent and detach from rear muffler (2).

NOTE: Illustration shows and text refers to the left rubber mount.
The procedure is identical for the right intake duct.

Spray rubber mount (1) with antiseize agent and detach from exhaust pipe (2).

Support exhaust system with a suitable lifter.

Release screws and remove cross-brace (1).

Unscrew nuts.

Picture shows the left side, the procedure for the right is identical.

Lower and remove exhaust system with assistance of a second person.

NOTE: Check rubber mount for damage, replace if necessary.
