41 14 502 Replacing rear left outer section of wheel housing (side panel removed)

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Remove or cover those vehicle components in the repair area which are susceptible to heat or dust.

Use only approved SPOT-WELDING APPARATUS for repairs.

The following new body parts are required:

Wheel arch, rear, outer half, left (see "1" in illustration)
Shaped part, B-pillar, bottom (see "2" in illustration)

Remove cavity bulkhead (1).

Open weld joints in area (2).

Installation note:

Stick on new cavity acoustic baffle (1) with window adhesive.

Mark severance cut (1) in accordance with measurement and cut.

IMPORTANT: Cut outer metal sheet only.

A = approx. 20 mm

Open weld joints and in areas (2 and 3).

Installation note:

For manufacturing reasons, the repair joining sequence differs from the series joining sequence. Fit new part in area (3) from outside onto pipe flange and weld.

Mark severance cut (1) in accordance with measurement and cut.

A = approx. 20 mm

Open weld joints in area (2).

Remove outer section of wheel arch.

Preparation of new part:

Mark severance cut (1) in radius and cut.

Installation note:

Adjust new part to fit in area (1) between flange (2) and side panel extension (3).

Adjust new part in conjunction with side panel to fit.
