51 16 160 Removing and installing/replacing center console trim

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Unclip lower center console heater cover (1) from retaining clips (2) using special tool 00 9 323 and remove.

Release screws (1) on both sides.

Release screw (2).

Only on cars with telephone version: 

Release screw (1).

Remove front center console trim (2).

Only on cars with telephone version: 

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Unclip center console trim (1) from holders (2) and pull back slightly.

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Only on vehicles with diesel engine: 

Disconnect plug connections (2).

Remove center console trim.

Replacement:

Replacement (R55 and R56 only up to version 12/2007):

If necessary, rework center console (1) trim. Make opening (2) in the marked area.

Dimension A = 23 mm
