41 34 060 Stripping operations - Replacing tail panel

NOTE: Owing to the different engine variants and equipment specifications, not all the components are taken into consideration.

The following list basically represents the removal sequence.

Remove complete exhaust system (FR number: 18 00020)
Remove heat shield for rear silencer
Remove bumper trim (FR number: 5112156)
Remove bumper carrier (FR number: 5112050)
Remove and install rear lid (FR number: 41 62000)
Remove luggage compartment floor trim panel (FR number: 5147101)
Upper tail panel trim (FR number: 5146050)
Remove and install left and right luggage compartment wheel arch panels (FR number: 5147151)
Release rear lid seal

Remove rear lid lock (1).

Remove fastener bow (2).

Disconnect all plugs from wiring harness (3).

Release nuts (4).

Remove control unit (5).

Lay wiring harness (3) towards front.

Release wiring harness (1) from tail panel.

Remove storage tray (2).

Remove rear lid lock (1).

Remove fastener bow (2).

Disconnect all plugs from wiring harness (3).

Release nuts (4).

Remove control unit (5).
