54 34 373 Replacing bow seal

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Open LOADING AID
NOTE:
Operation is described for the left side, work is identical for the right side.
Release screws (1).
Pop seal ends out of bow.
Installation:
Fasten seal ends at marked points with butyl.
Slowly pull seal off away bow.
Remove butyl remnants from bow.
Installation:
Lay new butyl rope (sourcing reference: BMW Parts Department) when replacing butyl rope or in event of partial separation of butyl rope in seal end area.
Position seal on left and right outwards from contact point.
Rubber plugs on seal, rivets and bore holes determined position of seal on bow.
