12 42 500 Replacing the positive battery cable between the starter motor, alternator and positive battery connection point (N12, N16)

Necessary preliminary work

Read out fault memory of DME control unit.
Switch off ignition.
Disconnect BATTERY EARTH LEAD .
REMOVE AIR INTAKE HOSE .
REMOVE LOCK BRIDGE
Disconnect the positive battery cable from the positive battery terminal. Tightening torque 61 21 1AZ .
Unlock connector on bulkhead and disconnect.

Unlock connector (1) and remove.

Release nut and disconnect the positive battery cable (2).

Tightening torque 12 41 2AZ .

Unlock connector (1) and remove.

Release nut and disconnect the positive battery cable (2).

Tightening torque 12 31 2AZ .

Release screws.

Tightening torque 12 51 3AZ .

Feed out air wiring harness (1) and remove.

NOTE: Check stored fault messages.
Delete fault memory.
