11 12 000 Removing and installing/sealing cylinder head cover (N14)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Release clamps (1 and 2). Unlock connector (3) and remove. Unlock and detach vacuum line (4). Push the lock (5) of the vent hose together on the side (see graphic) and pull off toward the top. Pull the vent hose off the cylinder head cover in the direction of the arrow. Remove the vent hose with gaiter (7). Release connector (6) and remove.

Installation note:  Install gaiter (7) dry and free from grease.

Unclip engine wiring harness with holders (1).

Release oxygen sensors on cylinder head (1).

Detach earth cable at bolt connection (2).

Undo cylinder head cover bolts in the sequence 13 to 1.

Replace gasket (1).

Replace all gaskets (2).

Installation: 

Clean all sealing surfaces.

Installation: 

Seal all edges and joints on the cylinder head with sealing compound Drei Bond 1209.

NOTE: Pictures show N12.

Secure bolts for cylinder head cover in sequence 1 to 13.

Tightening torque: 11 12 4AZ. .

Assemble engine.
