51 24 008 Adjusting both strikers for splitdoor

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
CAUTION: Do not damage adjoining body parts.
Minor corrections (realignment work) are permitted if the existing adjustment options are not sufficient.
NOTE: Observe gap dimensions.  See 41 5.... ADJUSTING DOOR
The doors must be provided with all attachment parts for correct adjustment.

Check that adjoining body parts are flush in terms of height and correct if necessary.

NOTE: Vertical adjustment of the doors must not be influenced by the lock striker.
When the splitdoor is closed, the lock striker must not touch or scrape against the door lock. Look out for scratches.

Slacken screws (1) until lock striker can still just be moved at the bottom.

Close left splitdoor and keep release button pressed so that door lock snaps closed.

Striker must be located in middle of door lock.

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 51 21 8AZ.

NOTE: When the splitdoor is closed, the lock striker must not touch or scrape against the door lock. Look out for scratches.

Remove cover (1) on striker at top.

Slacken screws (1) until lock striker (2) can still just be moved at the top.

Close left splitdoor and keep release button pressed so that door lock snaps closed.

Striker must be located in middle of door lock.

Move lock striker sideways in order to adjust transition between rear right and left doors.

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 51 24 8AZ.

NOTE: When the door is closed, the lock striker must not touch or scrape against the door lock. Look out for scratches.
