51 16 405 Removing and installing or replacing blind at side window of left or right rear door

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove rear function carrier. Refer to 51 22 035 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FUNCTION CARRIER (WITHOUT ROLLER SUN BLIND) ON LEFT OR RIGHT REAR DOOR .

Disconnect plug connections (1).

Release screws (2 and 3).

Unclip brush cable (4).

Remove roller sun blind module.

Installation: 

Tightening torque, screws (2): 51 16 10AZ. Refer to BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Tightening torque, screw (3): 51 16 11AZ. Refer to BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Release screw.

Remove roller sun blind from brush unit.

Installation: 

Tightening torque: 51 16 12AZ. Refer to BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Feed guide (1) into guide hole (2).

Turn module.

Unclip clips (A) and remove.

Unclip clip (B) (1) and pull out of guide (2).

Remove outer brush cable.

Installation: 

Make sure lug (1) is seated in groove (2).

Pull roller sun blind (1) upwards slightly.

Remove inner brush cable (2).

If necessary, pull off chest strip (3) towards top.

Installation: 

Make sure lug is seated in groove (4).
