Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 17 other vehicles, including the 2008 BMW 760Li, 2007 BMW 760Li, 2006 BMW 760i, 2006 BMW 760Li, and 2005 BMW 760i. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove wheel.
  2. Release nut (1). Grip at hexagon head. Unfasten nut (2). Pull out eccentric screw (4). See Fig 1 .
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure tapered pin and bore are free of grease. Fit eccentric washer (3). See Fig 1 . Replace nuts. Nut (1) is traction strut to wheel carrier. Nut (2) is control arm to rear axle support. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. Adjust rear axle after assembly. See appropriate SPECIFICATIONS & PROCEDURES article in WHEEL ALIGNMENT.
