13 64 541 Replacing all injector valves (M60, M62)

Switch off ignition.

Version 1: 

(Acoustic cover screwed down)

Remove seal caps (1) and unfasten nuts (2).

Remove acoustic cover.

Version 2: 

(acoustic cover with press-stud fastener)

Press press-stud fasteners (1...4) in succession and at same time raise acoustic cover slightly.

Remove acoustic cover once all four press-stud fasteners have been unlocked.

Installation 

1. Position acoustic cover and press downwards until press-stud fasteners (1...4) click into place.

Remove cable retaining bands.

Disconnect accelerator cable from throttle valve lever.

Remove cover from ignition coils from both sides of cylinder head.

Disconnect plug connection from ignition coils.

Remove cable ducts (2) and place to one side.

Installation 

Disconnect plug connection on injector valves.

Seal fuel delivery line and return line with special tool 13 3 010 and remove.

Installation 

1. Replace hose clips.

Remove vacuum hose from fuel pressure regulator.

Unfasten screw connection on injection tube.

Remove injection tube together with injector valves.

Unclip and remove circlip.

Remove injector valves.

1. Check seals on injector valves and replace if necessary.

Before installing injector valves, coat seals with acid-free grease.

Check fuel injectors for leaks and clean, refer to 13 64 582 CHECKING INJECTOR VALVES FOR LEAKS AND CLEANING .
