13 62 511 Replacing temperature sensor for intake air (M60, M62)

Switch off ignition.

Version 1:

(acoustic cover screwed down)

Remove seal caps (1) and unfasten nuts (2).

Remove acoustic cover.

Version 2:

(acoustic cover with press-stud fastener)

Open press-studs (1.. 4) one at a time, at the same time lifting the acoustic cover slightly. Once all four press-studs have been opened, remove the acoustic cover.

Installation

Position acoustic cover and press downwards until press-studs (1.. 4) click into place.

M60 and E31 M62:

Temperature sensor is fitted in intake manifold:

Press down retaining spring.

Disconnect connector.

Unfasten temperature sensor.

Tightening torque, refer to SENSOR FOR CONTROL UNIT .

Installation

Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit, check faults in memory then cancel fault memory.

M62:

The temperature sensor is clipped into the upper section of intake filter housing.

Disconnect connector. Press locking unit (1) and remove temperature sensor (2).

Installation

Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit, check faults in memory then cancel fault memory.
