11 53 325 Removing and installing/replacing coolant manifold (M62)

Installation

Replace sealing ring.

Tightening torque, refer to 11 11 5AZ in ENGINE - TIGHTENING TORQUES - 540i .

Top up coolant. Vent cooling system and check for leaks,

Refer to 17 00 005 DRAINING AND TOPPING UP COOLANT .

E38:

To improve accessibility to coolant manifold, lift water valve out of mounting and press to one side.

NOTE: Illustration with engine removed.

Remove all coolant hoses from coolant manifold.

Unfasten left and right screw connection on coolant manifold.

Installation

Clean sealing faces and replace seals and sealing rings.
