11 62 065 Removing and installing/replacing exhaust manifold, right (M62 VANOS from 9/98)

(Cylinder bank 1-4)

Unscrew and remove splash guard.

Remove exhaust system. See 18 00 020 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COMPLETE EXHAUST SYSTEM (M62)

Remove right heat baffle plate.

Disconnect plug connection to Lambda control sensor.

Release screw connection at exhaust manifold.

NOTE: Remove exhaust manifold towards bottom.

Installation

Replace seals.

Beads of seals face the exhaust manifold.

Coat thread with copper paste -CRC-.

Replace nuts.

Tightening torque, refer to 11 62 1AZ in ENGINE - TIGHTENING TORQUES - 540i .
