11 44 000 Removing and installing/replacing oil - water heat exchanger (COOPER S)

Danger of scalding!
Only perform this work after engine has cooled down.
Release pressure cap on coolant expansion tank.
Remove right hand front road wheel. Refer to 36 10 300 REMOVING OR INSTALLING FRONT OR REAR WHEEL .
Drain coolant. Refer to 17 00 005 DRAINING AND ADDING COOLANT (COOPER S) .
Disconnect pipes (1) from heat exchanger (2) and catch and dispose of coolant.
Remove heat exchanger retaining bolts (1) and remove heat exchanger.
Tightening torque 11 44 1AZ. Refer to ENGINE - TIGHTENING TORQUES .
Remove sealing rings (1).
Clean all sealing surfaces.
Install new sealing rings and refit heat exchanger.
NOTE:
Heat exchanger location lugs (2).
Check engine oil level.
Bleed and top-up cooling system. Refer to 17 00 005 DRAINING AND ADDING COOLANT .
