64 12 505 Removing and installing/replacing glow element (Thermo Top S)

Release screws and turn over heater.

Release screws and remove central cover.

Disconnect all plug connections. Release screws and remove pull relief. Place wiring harness to one side.

Installation:

Cable tie (1) must be located in front of pull relief.

Unfasten screws.

NOTE: The burner cover is welded plastically with the heater housing.

Lever out burner cover with screwdriver.

Installation:

Remove old sealing compound from cover and coat with new sealing compound provided.

Observe tightening torque, refer to 64 12 7AZ in HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING - TIGHTENING TORQUES - 5-SERIES .

Remove glow element (1) and flame detector (2) from burner insert and detach together with burner cover.

Installation:

Run wires of glow element under cable duct (3) of burner insert.
