52 17 200 Removing and installing/replacing top rear panel on front seat backrest (luxury seat with rear-compartment-oriented equipment)

NOTE: This document is not applicable to L7 driver's seat with video system in rear compartment.

Version of L7 driver's seat with video system in rear compartment, refer to 52 17 202 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING BOTTOM REAR PANEL ON FRONT SEAT BACKREST (LUXURY SEAT) .

Removing Top Rear Panel On Front Seat Backrest:

Remove bottom rear panel, refer to 52 17 202 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING BOTTOM REAR PANEL ON FRONT SEAT BACKREST (LUXURY SEAT) .

Move backrest adjustment as far forward as possible.

Pull off wooden finishers on left/right with fabric adhesive tape (1) jerkily towards rear/outside.

Installation:

If necessary, remove clip from wooden finisher and install in left/right rear panel. After installation, the wooden finisher must be pressed sideways into position; wooden finisher then positions itself.

NOTE: Screw (1) must not be released to remove top rear panel. This screw (1) only serves to adjust the padding in the rear panel.

Only unfasten screw (2) for dismantling top of rear panel in next operation.

Unfasten screws starting at bottom and pull rear panel upwards to remove.

Installation:

Position backrest adjustment unit fully forwards and briefly release from stop setting.

Position rear panel at top and secure with screws at top.

Installation:

Remove retaining screws and secure to backrest frame.

Tighten down all screws, starting at the bottom.

Only "Replacing Complete Top Of Rear Panel On Front Seat Backrest":

Lever out middle wooden finisher with fishbone and remove.

Install clips in aperture.

Only Replace:

Unscrew nuts.

Using a flat drill, pierce a hole on left/right.

approx. 16 mm
approx. 18 mm

Lift out bottom left/right cover (1) with 3 mm dia. cotter pin driver (2).

Installation:

Install cover (1) in recess on frame (2) and clip into bottom.

The clips and recesses must not be damaged.

Unfasten screws.

Turn flap backwards and pull plate upwards to remove.

Installation:

Only use original screws (short version 10 mm) because otherwise the surface of the table can be damaged.

Slide plate completely downwards.

CAUTION: Risk of damage if frame (2) is released jerkily.

Unfasten screws (1) and pull frame (2) obliquely upwards to remove.

Unfasten screws (3) and remove connecting plate (4).

Unfasten screws (5) and invert rear panel.

Installation:

Insert all screws but do not tighten down.

Thread must point forwards (1) and washer (2) must turn in installation position
Insert chassis (3) and tighten down screws (4) on left/right.

Check function.

Unfasten screws (1) and remove linings (2) and (3).

Installation:

Pull connecting plate (1) downwards and tighten down screws (2).

Completely assemble folding table.

The folding table (1) can be adjusted upwards, downwards, forwards and backwards.

After adjusting the screws (2), tighten screws (4) down onto lining (3).

Adjust gap (A):

(A) must be the same on left/right

Move rear panel outer section (1) and tighten down screw (2).
