52 17 040 Removing and installing/replacing cover on left or right front seat (comfort)

Unfasten seatbelt screw.

Tightening torque - 31 N.m.

Move back seat cover slightly to one side and unfasten screws.

Unfasten clips.

If rear clip is not accessible:

If necessary, unhook rear panel at bottom (without removing rear panel at top), refer to 52 17 202 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING BOTTOM REAR PANEL ON FRONT SEAT BACKREST (LUXURY SEAT) .

CAUTION: Risk of damaging detent lugs on central clip (3).

Press down cover from above and turn downwards to remove.

Only Replacing:

Pull off operating knobs (1) and (2).

Version With Lumbar Switch At Side As Of Model Year 1996:

Unlock and remove cable connector (1).

Remove switch (2) and switch combination (3) for seat adjustment.

Remove cover.

Installation:

Wiring harness (4) must be routed around support for central clip (5).
