12 61 285 Replacing oil level sensor

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Switch off ignition.
- Unfasten oil filter cap to enable engine oil in filter to flow back into the oil sump.
- Remove reinforcement plate.
- Drain off engine oil.
Unlock plug (1) and remove.
Unscrew nuts.
Remove oil level sensor (2).
Installation:
Clean sealing face on oil sump.
Replace seal on oil level sensor.
Tightening torque, refer to 12 61 2AZ in ENGINE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES .
Installation:
Top up engine oil.
Tighten down oil filter cap.
Tightening torque, refer to 11 42 2AZ in ENGINE MECHANICAL - TIGHTENING TORQUES - 530I .
