Steering Gear: Removal

  1. Remove front wheels.
  2. Remove steering wheel. See appropriate STEERING COLUMNS article.
  3. Remove left and right tie rod with special tool (32 2 070). See Figure.
  4. Remove clamping screw and pull universal joint off steering gear. See Figure.
  5. Unscrew bolts and take off steering gear in forward direction. See Fig 1.
