51 36 025 Replacing Cover On Side Window Cutout, Bottom Left Or Right (Coupe)

Unhook connecting rod on hinged window, refer to REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TRIM ON REAR SEAT BACKREST SIDE SECTION (COUPE) .

Release clip (1) and pull off trim strip (2) towards top.

Detach rest of trim strip (1) and pull out at rear from water drain (2).

Open hinged window (3) slightly for disassembly.

CAUTION: Open rear hinged window (3) by max. 193 mm, otherwise hinge will be damaged (wind noises).

Installation:

Remove rest of adhesive tape and clean contact surface.
Detach liner (1) on grip lug (2) from trim strip (3).

Installation:

Trim strip (3) must rest against channel (2) on mucket (1) (wind noises).
Installation sequence:

Detach liner.
Open rear hinged window slightly and insert trim strip (3) with chrome section under water drain (4).
Place trim strip (3) against channel (2) on mucket (1) (do not press down on adhesive area).
Align trim strip (3) in longitudinal direction (see Fig 4).
Press trim strip (3) down.
Install new clip at front.
