64 51 591 Removing and installing/replacing evaporator

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove heater. Refer to 64 11 205 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING HEATER .
Remove bulkhead adapter. Refer to 64 11 208 REPLACING HEATER CORE .

Feed out cable (1).

Unclip retainers (2).

Release screw (1).

Unclip fastening clips (2).

Detach upper housing (3) in direction of arrow and lay to one side.

Release screws (1).

Installation:

Tightening torque 64 53 9AZ. Refer to HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Remove expansion valve (2).

Installation:

Replace sealing rings.

Remove retainer (3).

Remove evaporator (4) in direction of arrow.
