54 34 160 Removing and installing/replacing right convertible top catch (automatic)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove front convertible top fabric . See 54 34 120 Replacing Convertible Top Fabric .

Remove cover (2).

1 = Left cover

Release screws (1), turn reinforcement to one side.

Release screws (2), press engine frame downwards slightly.

Release screws (3), remove holder and lock.

Installation:

Replace screws (2).

Loosen screws (1).

Tightening torque, see 54 31 15AZ (replace screws) in SLIDE/TILT ROOF AND CONVERTIBLE TOP - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Feed out catch (2) with Bowden cable towards rear top, detaching drive shaft (3) from catch and feeding out Bowden cable (4) with sensor.
