54 34 159 Removing and installing/replacing left convertible top catch (automatic)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove front convertible top fabric . See 54 34 120 Replacing Convertible Top Fabric .

Remove cover (1).

2 = Right cover

Release screws (1) and remove Hall sensor . See 61 31 798 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING SENSOR ON CONVERTIBLE TOP LATCH .

Loosen screws (2).

Feed out catch (3) towards rear top, detach flexible shaft (4) from catch in so doing.

Installation:

Catch must be set to "open" before flexible shaft is pushed on. If necessary, turn accordingly by means of drive pinion.
Replace screws (2).
