54 31 165 Replacing convertible top lock (stowage lock)

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove storage box . See 51 16 240 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR STORAGE COMPARTMENT .
Unfasten screws.
Installation:
- Install lock loose.
- Move lock in elongated holes in direction of convertible top.
- Stow convertible top until it engages exactly.
- Pull lock approx. 2 mm towards front and tighten down screws.
Tightening torque, see 54 31 1AZ in SLIDE/TILT ROOF AND CONVERTIBLE TOP - TIGHTENING TORQUES .
- Carry out function check, listening out for grinding noises.
