54 31 160 Replacing convertible top strip

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove convertible top . See 54 34 101 Removing And Installing Complete Convertible Top .

Release screws (1) of front strap on convertible top strip.

Feed front strap (2) out of convertible top strip.

Replacement only:

Feed cover (3) out of convertible top strip.

Unfasten screws.

If necessary, release holder of hydraulic lines and emergency release Bowden cable.

Unfasten screws on left/right side.

Feed fabric welt out of clamp.

Unfasten screws on left/right side.

Feed out fabric welt further.

Feeding belt out of convertible top strip:

Raise welt
Remove welt towards rear bottom
