51 71 390 Removing and installing/replacing reinforcement plate on rear axle

Special tools required:
- 00 9 120
IMPORTANT:
Vehicles must not be driven without reinforcement plates.
Driving without the reinforcement plate may damage the vehicle body.
Screws of reinforcement plate must be tightened to torque and then tightened down with special tool 00 9 120.
Driving without the reinforcement plate may damage the vehicle body.

Removing heat shield (2):
- Release clip.
- Release screws (1).
Release nuts (3), screws (4) and screws (2) and remove reinforcement plate (1).
Installation:
Replace screws (2).
- Insert screws.
- Tighten down screws (2) to torque and then to angle of rotation,
Tightening torque, see 51 71 5AZ in BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES .
- Tighten down screws (4) and nuts (3),
