18 12 030 Replacing rear muffler (N40, N42, N45, N46, M54 Compact)

Special tools required: 

WARNING: Scalding hazard!
These tasks should only be carried out on an exhaust system that has cooled down!

Determining cutting line: 

Carry over length of new rear muffler (X) to faulty rear muffler.

Marking cutting line.

Cut exhaust pipes with special tool 00 2 210 at marked points and deburr.

Remove faulty rear muffler.

Installation: 

Connect new rear muffler and center muffler by means of clamping sleeves.

Locating face is in center of clamping sleeve.

Align exhaust system and clamping sleeves so that there is sufficient distance to the adjoining components.

Installation: 

Check the position of the tailpipes to the body-cutout.

Tighten down screws of clamping sleeves.
