61 31 222 Removing and installing/replacing fanfare horn switch

Necessary Preliminary Tasks:

Remove airbag unit. Refer to DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE .

IMPORTANT: Make sure cables are correctly laid in steering wheel and cannot be trapped during assembly.

Detach plug connection (1) from contact ring.

Multifunction steering wheel only:

Detach plug connection (2) from contact ring.

Release screws (1).

Carefully insert screwdriver into slot (2) in order to release locking tongue of rear switch housing (3) from front switch housing (4).

Disconnect wiring harness (1) from steering wheel.

Disconnect plug connection (2) and remove right switch.

Multifunction steering wheel only:

Release wiring harness (1) from clip.

Disconnect plug connection (2) and remove left switch.
