61 31 011 Removing and installing/replacing volute spring cassette

Necessary Preliminary Tasks:

Remove fixture for steering column stalk. Refer to 61 31 006 REMOVING AND INSTALLING (REPLACING) FIXTURE FOR STEERING COLUMN STALK .

Expand catches (1) and remove volute spring cassette (2) from fixture for steering column switch (3).

Replacement:

Break off turning lock (1) of new volute spring cassette (2).

WARNING: If the steering wheel is not reinstalled straight away, the new volute spring cassette (2) must be secured against turning with adhesive tape! Refer to 61 31 006 REMOVING AND INSTALLING (REPLACING) FIXTURE FOR STEERING COLUMN STALK .
