61 35 910 Removing and installing/replacing control unit of electronic immobilizer

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: 

Release nuts (1), tightening torque, refer to 61 35 1AZ in GENERAL ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUE - COOPER (1.6L) R50/W10 .

Disconnect plug connection (2) and remove immobilizer control unit.

UK Vehicles Only: 

The control unit of the electronic immobilizer is protected by a metal bracket. Nuts (1) are special tamperproof nuts.

Replacement: 

Carry out programming/coding. Refer to DIAGNOSIS PROGRAMMING/CODING .
