12 61 280 Removing and installing/replacing oil pressure switch

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: 

WARNING: Danger of scalding!

Carry out this work step only when the engine has cooled down.

Open oil filter cap so that oil can flow back into oil sump.

Tighten down oil filter cap.

Tightening torque, refer to 11 42 1AZ in ENGINE - TIGHTENING TORQUES - COOPER (1.6L) R50/W10 .

Unlock plug (1) and remove.

Release oil pressure switch (2).

Tightening torque, refer to 12 61 1AZ in ENGINE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES - COOPER (1.6L) R50/W10 .

Clean oil pressure sensor and thread in oil filter housing.

If the oil pressure sensor is to be reused, apply sealing compound to the thread as illustrated.

Check engine oil level.
