Necessary Preliminary Tasks:
- Remove tank venting valve. Refer to 13 90 500 REPLACING TANK VENTING VALVE .
- Remove underpan. Refer to 51 47 490 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FRONT UNDERBODY PROTECTION (ENGINE) .
WARNING:
Make sure the locking pin is completed inserted in the drive belt clamping fixture (risk of injury).
NOTE:
If the drive belt is to be reused: Mark direction of travel and reinstall drive belt in same direction of travel.
Relieve tension on belt with special tool 11 8 390 and lock belt tensioner with special tool 11 8 280, remove drive belt.
Installation:
Check drive belt for coolant and oil residue and replace if necessary.
Ensure correct installation position (risk of damage).
Assemble engine.
