54 12 265 Adjusting both drive cables for actuation of glass slide/tilt sunroof

Removing and installing glass slide/tilt sunroof,

refer to 54 12 115 REMOVING AND INSTALLING GLASS SLIDING/TILTING SUNROOF LID

Remove drive unit with transmission for slide/tilt sunroof actuation. To remove:

Remove panel and disconnect plug connection.

NOTE: Note: Secure drive with gear for actuating slide/tilt sunroof against falling out.

Lower drive with gear for actuating slide/tilt sunroof. Unlock plug connection, disconnect and remove drive with gear for actuating slide/tilt sunroof.
To install, insert gear wheel of drive with gear for actuating slide/tilt sunroof in gear teeth.

Slide mechanism (1) into zero setting.

Insert special tool 54 3 170 left/right between the guides (1) in the lifting device (2).

Lift front of special tool 54 3 170 (1) slightly and insert in control gate (2) (both drive cables are now secured in their zero setting).

Install drive unit with transmission for slide/tilt sunroof actuation.

CAUTION: Remove special tool 54 3 170 left/right (risk of damage).

Check function.
