52 13 400 Replacing seat cover on left or right front seat (normal/ manual)

Removal of complete seat cushion: 

Remove both seat rails,

refer to 52 13 010 REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REPLACING BOTH SEAT RAILS ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT (NORMAL / MANUAL) 

Remove inside cover,

refer to 52 13 041 REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REPLACING INNER COVER ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT BACKREST (NORMAL/ MANUAL) 

Remove actuating unit,

refer to 52 13 015 REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REPLACING CONTROLS ON LEFT / RIGHT FRONT SEAT (NORMAL / MANUAL) 

Lift left/ right seat cover out of cover clips.

Installation: 

End of cover must not be folded or frayed (function error).

Remove cable (1) for seatbelt tensioner from inside seat cover (2).

Model with lumbar supports:

Extract cable (1) from seat cover (2).

Version with seat heating:

Unfasten cable tie (1) and remove connector (2).

Model with lumbar supports:

Do not unfasten cable tie (3) in region of hose reinforcement.

Disconnect seat cover from all cover clips (1) and remove together with foam rubber section (support).

Replacement of support: 

Cut through all clips and remove seat cover from support (foam rubber section).

Installation: 

Bend new clips (2) with special tool 52 0 050.

1. Support
2. Clip
3. Trim thread in support
4. Trim thread in cover
5. Cover

Only passenger seat (replacement of support):

Installation: 

Fit new sensor mat.

Mark out points (2) on sensor mat (1) for passenger seat allocation identification on liner and attach to foam rubber. Guide connector through the bore (3).

Folds as illustrated in diagram are not permitted!

Only passenger seat (replacement of sensor mat): 

Remove sensor mat (1) for passenger seat allocation identification, ensuring that no large areas of foam at damaged marked points (2) (malfunction of passenger seat allocation identification). Guide connector through the bore (3).

Folds as illustrated in diagram are not permitted!

Replacement of seat cover: 

Remove trim threads (1) from seat cover. Cut new seat cover to size and insert trim threads (1).
