00 11 500 Checking/ topping up oil level in automatic transmission (A5S 300J)

NOTE: The vehicle must be on level ground.

Apply parking brake.

Automatic transmission oil. See RECOMMENDED FLUID .

CAUTION: Only check oil level at a transmission oil temperature of 30 °C... 55°C.

Query oil temperature with BMW MODIC or BMW Diagnosis Information System (DIS).

Run engine in selector lever setting "P" or "N".

Unfasten filler screw (1).

Top up automatic transmission oil until it overflows at the filler bore.

Installation:

Use new sealing ring.

Tightening torque. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
