Swivel Bearing: Installation

- Install new wheel bearing in swivel bearing. Contact face (2) of wheel bearing and swivel bearing and the threaded bores (1) must be clean and free of grease. See Fig 1. Tighten screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install swivel bearing up into place.
- Install tension strut to swivel bearing.
- Install control arm to swivel bearing.
- Press on tie rod. Use washer (1). See Figure. Ensure spigot and bore are free of grease. Brace on hexagon socket if necessary. Replace self-locking nut and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install brake disc and ABS pulse sensor.
- Check alignment of front axle. See WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS & PROCEDURES under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTION.
